Skate Park Oasis
Location: Tottenham, near Markfield Park
Medium: Site-specific mural, exterior paint on concrete skate bowl
Year: 2022
In the heart of Tottenham’s skate park, within a bowl worn smooth by decades of wheels and weather, Skate Park Oasis reimagines the surface as a body of water — a blue pool rippling across the concrete. The mural turns this urban terrain into an ecological reflection: a reminder that movement, balance, and flow connect both skate culture and the living planet.
Skaters move in looping trajectories, tracing invisible rivers of motion. The piece mirrors that rhythm — the circular paths of the board echoing natural cycles of water, erosion, and renewal. The image doesn’t erase the graffiti that came before it, but works in dialogue with it: layers of colour and tags form a visual ecosystem, alive and evolving.
Skate Park Oasis invites reflection on coexistence. It’s an act of care and imagination, where art, sport, and environment meet. It continues my wider practice exploring the intersections of ecology, community, and creativity in shared urban spaces — from performance rituals to collective acts of making.
